Assistant Professor

Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems
Kuwait University, College of Business Administration

As an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems at Kuwait University since October 2018, I am committed to advancing education and research at the intersection of technology and organizational strategy. I hold a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from Georgia State University (2018), an MBA from Texas Tech University (2011), and a B.Eng. in Computer Engineering from Kuwait University (2006). With a robust background in academia and industry, I have designed and taught eight undergraduate courses, creating dynamic and student-focused learning experiences.

My research centers on Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Knowledge Management, and Strategic Management. My Ph.D. thesis introduced the "Practice-Based View" of the firm, a pioneering theory that redefines knowledge as the foundation of strategy development, incorporating social, cultural, and political dimensions. Current projects include an AI-powered loan scoring model with Gulf Bank of Kuwait and a theoretical paper on contextualized organizational knowledge.

I actively engage in applied research and community impact. Recently, I led a consulting project for a Kuwait-based firm, delivering a strategic roadmap to address post-COVID sales declines. The report offered recommendations—such as targeting SMEs and startups, enhancing digital presence, and updating training curricula—to improve market positioning in a challenging economic landscape. Additional contributions include co-authoring a paper on Kuwait’s economic reform, mentoring student hackathon teams to success, and advising Kuwait’s first mobile payment company. My work integrates theory and practice to deliver meaningful solutions for education, business, and society.
