Ahmad M. Ashkanani is an Assistant Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management in the Information Systems and Operations Management Department at the College of Business Administration, Kuwait University. He teaches undergraduate courses spanning key areas in business analytics and operations and supply chain management, including topics such as inventory management, project management, quality and productivity improvement, business statistics, mathematical modeling, and decision-making. He also serves as the Director of the Office of Research Development at the College of Business Administration. In recognition of his teaching excellence, he received the Teaching Effectiveness Award for the academic year 2019-2020.
Professor Ashkanani's research explores the behavioral aspects of operations management, focusing on how human decision-making impacts operations and supply chain management across various industries, including healthcare and service sectors. He also investigates the role of technology in enhancing operations and supply chain management. His research has been published in leading journals such as Management Science and the Health Care Management Review and was recognized with the Best Poster Award at Kuwait University’s Scientific Poster Day.
Beyond his academic work, Ahmad has contributed to professional development through workshops on business analytics and advanced research methods. He has delivered training on web scraping for researchers, the art of data storytelling, and the design and execution of laboratory experiments, equipping attendees with practical skills for research and decision-making.
