I am an Associate Professor of Genomic Medicine at the Health Sciences Center, Kuwait University, specializing in Genomic Medicine. My academic journey in genetics commenced with a Bachelor of Sciences in Molecular Genetics from The Ohio State University in 2005. Furthering my education, I earned an MSc. and PhD in Medical Genetics from the Institute of Genetic Medicine at Newcastle University, UK.
My research is dedicated to improving the diagnosis and prognosis of chronic kidney diseases, with a particular focus on Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) and Diabetic nephropathy. This passion for molecular diagnosis and kidney disease research has led me to collaborate with renowned experts in the field, allowing me to stay at the cutting edge of scientific developments and contribute significantly to this vital area of medicine.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Genetics, Institute of Genetic Medicine, Newcastle University, Newcastle, United Kingdom 2011
Master of Sciences (MSc) in Medical Genetics, Institute of Genetic Medicine, Newcastle University, Newcastle, United Kingdom 2007
Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics, Ohio State University, United States of America, 2005
I lead advanced genomic and clinical research, focusing on chronic kidney diseases and diabetes-related complications. My responsibilities include designing and supervising impactful research projects, mentoring graduate students, ensuring ethical compliance in clinical studies, and fostering international collaborations to advance scientific discovery and healthcare solutions. Additionally, I contribute to academic excellence through teaching, curriculum development, and serving as an editor for leading scientific journals.
