Under the patronage of the Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Fahd Al-Dubais Al-Rashidi, the College of Social Sciences held a conference (Women in the Eyes of Social Sciences), coinciding with the celebration of Women's Day in science, technology, engineering and medicine.
The Director of the Center for Women's Studies and Research Dr. Lubna Al-Qadi said that this year is the eighth year in which the United Nations celebrates this day after the countries of the world signed the sustainable development goals, including Kuwait in 2015, noting that this year’s focus was on issues of alternative energy, sustainable cities and medicine.
The conference coordinator, Dr. Wafaa Al-Aradi said that the College of Social Sciences was keen to celebrate such a distinguished group of Kuwaiti women, noting that the conference came in appreciation of women's efforts in all scientific, medical, engineering and technological sectors, and to highlight their pioneering and scientific role, in addition to presenting women's leadership experiences.
