The campus of the College of Science in Sabah Al-Salem University City won the award for the best project in the Middle East and North Africa in social infrastructure, which is granted by the Foundation MEED Middle East Economic Digest in cooperation with Mashreq Bank.
This award was granted to the campus of the College of Science for many factors, the most important of which is the richness of its design, which includes a group of facilities and spaces that promote communication and exchange of ideas.  Such as scientific laboratories with different disciplines and modern equipment.
The location of the faculty club, which mediates the northern and southern parts of the campus, represents a model that translates the philosophy of communication, cooperation and participation on campus, in addition to the college's distinctive engineering design that simulates mathematical and scientific symbols such as geometric shapes, which is in harmony with the college's specializations and educational curricula.  The design dealt in an innovative and efficient manner with the harsh weather conditions in the region, in a way that enhances the concepts of sustainability in construction projects.
