The Acting Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Muhammad Hussain Bin Sabt, received His Excellency the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Kuwait, Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi in the Marine Science Center.
The meeting was attended by the Acting Vice Dean of the College of Science for the Marine Science Center and the Head of the Marine Science Department Dr. Hoda Mahmoud, Dr. Muhammad Al-Mukaimi, and college leaders and members of the academic staff at the Marine Science Center. The meeting aimed to enhance academic and student research cooperation between Kuwait and the UAE and to establish an agreement of understanding with government agencies interested in the marine environment. The visit also included a field tour around the Marine Science Center and laboratories.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Mukaimi expressed his happiness for the visit of His Excellency the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates. He said that the programs of the Marine Sciences Department were established in 2014, and the center affiliated with the College of Science in Sabah Al-Salem University City. However, due to the nature of the work, the center was established in Fintas area because of its proximity to the coast, in order to facilitate the collection of samples and fieldwork.
