KUNA Launches a Training Program on Journalistic Writing for University Students

Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) launched its 7th training program on journalistic writing for university students. A total of 19 students from Kuwait university are taking part in the 2022/2023 training program.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Kandari, faculty member in the Department of Media and Public Relations and the program’s supervisor, said that journalistic writing is an art that has its own rules and foundations, and that it needs to be acquired through training and practice.
Dr. Al-Kandari added that the media nowadays is highly influenced by modern technology. A journalist must be able to use modern technological tools to enhance the impact of his/her work. He also added that social media is a social tool that is now being used to publish news. Al-Kandari stressed the need for accuracy in reporting and publishing media.
Oqab Al-Quba , the vice editor in chief of international affairs, said that the program will continue until September 24, and it will commence with an introductory workshop about the foundations of journalistic writing and its type. The workshop will also touch on Arabic grammar rules during practice.
