Kuwait University’s Secretary General and official spokesman Professor Muhammad Zainal announced that Kuwait University’s President Professor Yousef Al-Roumi instructed to accelerate the process of implementing the university council’s decision to allow foreign students to enroll in Kuwait University at their own expense. Therefore, Kuwait University will start accepting applications from foreign students (high school graduates) for the first academic semester 2022/2023. Applications will be received starting from Sunday 21 August 2022 until Saturday 27 August 2022. Foreign students residing in Kuwait and GCC citizens (graduates of public high schools, religious institutes, English and American private schools in Kuwait only) who meet the admission requirements can submit their applications online. As for foreign students residing in Kuwait and GCC citizens who obtained their high school certificate from outside Kuwait, they must visit the admission and registration hall in Shuwaikh campus during the period from Sunday 21 August 2022 until Thursday 25 August 2022, bringing their documents and necessary papers.

Minimum high school GPA
Professor Zainal explained that foreign students need a GPA of 75% or higher (for the science section) and 80% or higher (for the arts section). Applicants must be high school graduates of the academic year 2021/2022 or 2020/2021. Applicants must meet the minimum GPA and the rest of the admission requirements which can be found in the ‘Admission and Transfer Guidebook’ on the Deanship of Admission and Registration’s website. Applications will be open for vacant majors only.
TOEFL, TOEFL IBT, and IELTS results can be used as an alternative for the English language aptitude test when calculating the equivalent average. The calculated result can be used to exempt the student from taking introductory courses, provided that the result is submitted before the end of the acceptance approval period.

Announcement of Admission Results
Professor Zainal added that foreign students' acceptance results will be announced after the application period ends. Accepted students will be sent an SMS with dates of their approval appointments. Approving the acceptance must be done in person by going to the admission and registration hall in Shuwaikh campus and taking the required documents.
