The College of Architecture held the graduation projects exhibition for the ‘Studio 4’ course from the Department of Communication Design & Interior Architecture. It was sponsored by Mabbarat Al-Othman (Promenade Mall), Mabbarat Al-Yousefi, and Gulf Insurance Center. A total of 12 students participated in the exhibition with projects relating to visual design and smartphone application design.
Dr. Amar Behbahani, faculty member in the College of Architecture, said that this exhibition is the culmination of four years of studying and effort, indicating that the projects were a year-long assignment where students were asked to find solutions to challenges in industry, create their own inventions, or develop innovative solutions for social and cultural projects.
Dr. Behbahani added that it is important to hold exhibitions outside the university campus to export our educational outputs to the local market. She thanked the sponsors of the event for their endless support and their contribution in presenting the students’ projects to share them with the public and to gain experience and confidence.
Faculty member Dr. Ahmed Al-Oumi said that, as an instructor, he is keen on providing students with opportunities to display their work and share their hidden talents. He added that these achievements require 3 aspects, a passion for learning, a good supervisor, and support from the parents.
Dr. Sara Al-Mudhaf praised the students for overcoming all the obstacles that they faced while creating their projects, and for taking into consideration society’s needs and promoting social responsibility. She explained that students in the Department of Communication Design & Interior Architecture designed projects for different areas such as: human well-being, mental health, education, sign language, communication, games, cultural heritage, and women’s self-defense.
