The Social Committee of the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management at the College of Administrative Sciences at Kuwait University organized an event to honor outstanding students for the academic year 2021-2022, in the lobby of the College of Administrative Sciences in Al-Shaddadiya. The event was supervised by the Chairman of the Information Systems and Operations Management Department Professor Jafar Muhammad Ali. The attendees included faculty members, supporting academic staff of the department, staff and the outstanding students.
Faculty member from the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management Dr. Salman Al-Jazzaf started the event by welcoming all the attendees, explaining that this event came to honor outstanding students, staff and faculty members who have made achievements during the previous years. Al-Jazzaf added that the event aims to break the daily academic routine and he hopes to hold more events and activities in the future.
The event included a competition for the attendees presented by Dr. Al-Jazzaf. In addition, outstanding students were honored including Manar Bader Al-Otaibi, Raghad Abdullatif Al-Amiri, Shaikha Naji Al-Misbihi, Lama Saad Al-Ajmi, Jawaher Abdullah Al-Shammari and Nada Juma Al-Sharqawi.
The Chairman of the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management Professor Jafar Muhmmad Ali honored faculty members for their outstanding achievements and awards. Some of the honorees included Professor Kamal Rowabih for winning the outstanding teaching award for the academic year 2021-2022 and Engineer Hawraa Al-Sarraf for winning second place in the scientific poster event for Humanities 2021-2022 (supporting academic staff category). Faculty members Dr. Fayez Abdulsalam and Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Al-Marzouq were honored for their promotion to Associate Professors. Dr. Abrar Al-Hassan was also honored for her promotion to Associate Professor and for winning outstanding teaching award in Kuwait University 2020-2021.
The Department of Information Systems and Operations Management thanked the outstanding members of the department for all their efforts in the past years between 2019-2021 including Assistant Professor in the Quantitative Methods and Information Systems Department Dr. Ahmed Ashkanani for winning the outstanding teaching award for the academic year 2019-2020 and for winning first place in the scientific poster event for Humanities (faculty members category). Other honorees included Haya Al-Humaidi from the College of Administrative Sciences for winning first place in the scientific poster event for Humanities (supporting academic staff category) and Dr. Yousef Abdulsalam from the College of Administrative Sciences for winning third place in the scientific poster event for Humanities (faculty members category). The late Dr. Hameed Al-Qahiri was mentioned and remembered for all his efforts. Dr. Muhammad Al-Marzouq, Dr. Ahmed Ashkanani, Dr. Salman Al-Jazzaf and Engineer Osama Mustafawi were thanked for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic and for their role in online teaching.
