Team of College of Business Administration at Kuwait University competed in (CFA Research Challenge) of the Institute of Research Challenge competition in the State of Kuwait for the year 2022, for the second time in a row. This win is the seventh winning during the last eight years, which makes Kuwait University the highest winner.
The winning team is included Abdulwahab Hamad Al-Adwani, Ghazal Amer Amuka, and Taiba Azzam Al-Fulaij, under the supervision of Dr. Suleiman Hamad Al-Bader, assistant professor in the Finance Department, and a supervisor from the private sector, Mr. Ahmed Munther Al-Mailam.
Kuwait University team have competed this year with a group of teams from private universities in Kuwait, namely: the American University of the Middle East, the Gulf University for Science and Technology, the American University in Kuwait along with the Australian College in Kuwait.
This victory will qualify the team to compete in the regional qualifiers for the region Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, which will be held on the 17th of next May.
The competition began last October, and the teams have since worked on preparing a report by analyzing the Kuwait Stock Exchange Company with the aim of finding the fair value of its shares, which made the team’s task more difficult, as the Kuwait Stock Exchange was newly listed after its privatization, which The students faced a great challenge to analyze its data, but they outperformed themselves. They submitted the report at the beginning of last February. The presentation of the analysis was presented by a team of finance students at the College of Business Administration to the jury of judges last Sunday, and the presentation was followed by the students’ discussion of their report before arbitrators.
Dr. Suleiman Al-Bader pointed out that this competition provides an opportunity for distinguished students to apply their skills and scientific results, as well as to interact with professionals with experience from the private sector.
