Research Sector Honors the Inventor Muhammad Al-Ansari for Obtaining a New Patent

The Office of Patents and Intellectual Property at Kuwait University, affiliated to the Office of External Research Cooperation and Consultations have registered a new patent for the academic year 2021/2020 that was announced by the American Patent Office. The patent was obtained by researcher Muhammad Al-Ansari from the Department of Biochemistry at College of Medicine - Kuwait University for his invention:
Method for treating vitiligo
On this occasion, Assistant Vice President for External Research Cooperation and Consultations, Dr. Salman Al-Sabah, congratulated and honored researcher Muhammad Al-Ansari for discovering a new treatment method for treating Vitiligo on behalf of Kuwait University and marketing it globally, in the presence of the Acting Vice President for Research Dr. Ali Al-Mutairi.
Al-Sabah expressed his pride and joy in this achievement, pointing to the university's interest in such inventions for their social and economic benefits to society and the country as well.
For his part, researcher Muhammad Al-Ansari expressed his gratitude to Kuwait University and the Research Sector for supporting this project, pointing out that this treatment is a special treatment for Vitiligo, but with a new idea. The preliminary experiments was in Kuwait university by faculty members in the department of biochemistry – College of Medicine and from various departments such as department of Biological sciences, where they employed their
knowledge of the types of alternative plants. Natural materials were also analyzed in cooperation with the College of Science, the Department of Chemistry, and the Department of Biochemistry, as external cooperation had a large and important role.
Al-Ansari indicated that Kuwait University aspire for more cooperation with international laboratories so that doctors can use this product in clinical trials.

He extended his appreciation to the university administration for all the efforts made to achieve this project and turning it from an idea to a product, indicating that the initial research and clinical trials for this project were published in Kuwait University conferences, as he praised Kuwait University's support for research.
