The Research Sector Announces the Winners of the Scientific Poster Activity for Humanities and Science Faculties for the Academic Year 2020/2021

Under the patronage of the Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Fayez AlDhafiri, and the Vice-President for Research Prof. Rasheed AlEnezi, the Research Sector organized the scientific poster event for the humanitarian and scientific faculties and researchers from the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) for the academic year 2020/2021. This year witnessed the participation of Health Sciences Center Colleges for the first time.
The event was held on Sunday, March 21st, 2021, remotely by displaying scientific posters via a unified electronic link, where the displayed posters discussed various contemporary issues of scientific, social and national importance, reflecting the research interests of the academic community in the participating faculties.
The participation of humanitarian colleges came as follows: the College of Arts (8 posters), College of Business Administration (14 posters), College of Education (24 posters), College of Law (17 posters), College of Sharia and Islamic Studies (6 posters), and College of Social Sciences (11 posters). As for the scientific colleges, their participations were represented in : College of Science (49 posters), College of Engineering and Petroleum (24 posters), College of Life Sciences (19 posters), College of Architecture (one poster), in addition to the Faculties of Health Sciences represented by: College of Medicine (12 posters), College of Pharmacy (3 posters) College of Allied Health Sciences (14 posters), College of Public Health (one poster), and KISR (20 posters).
The aim of the sector’s establishment of this event is its constant endeavor to encourage colleges to unite their efforts to carry out advanced research of high scientific value for the state and society. As the Scientific Poster Day is an appropriate opportunity for researchers to communicate and build relation of cooperation between their various specializations in order to pave the way for them to complete research and studies. This will open broad horizons for scientific and research cooperation, and raise the quality of scientific research at Kuwait University.
The annual organization of the scientific poster represents the sector’s move towards highlighting the scientific and research capabilities and efforts of Kuwait University colleges and their outstanding contribution to scientific and research progress.
All participating posters have undergone a unified evaluation process by a specialized jury to select the distinguished posters in terms of scientific content, research methodology, method of presentation, and research outputs. Formerly, the best posters are selected for the Scientific Poster Day Awards in which three categories are competing: faculty members, assistant teachers, and graduate students.
The evaluation process resulted in selecting the best scientific posters in each of the award categories as follows:
