The Secretary General of Kuwait University, Dr. Muthanna Talib Al- Rifaie, stated that the University Council held its meeting no. (2/ 2021) today, Sunday 7/3/2021, chaired by the Acting Director of Kuwait University, Prof. Fayez A. Al-Dhafiri. The council discussed the articles on the agenda, and approved on the meeting No. (1/2021), which was held on 1/2/2021, and reviewed the follow-up report of the Council's decisions of the meeting no. (1/2021).
Dr. Al- Rifaie referred to the University Council’s approval to suspend articles 23 and 24 of the Distance Learning Regulation, since traditional learning is hard to apply at Kuwait University. Furthermore, exams will be held remotely using approved educational platforms. Health Science Center and its graduate fields are not be included in this decision. As well as practical courses with special nature, that requires student’s attendance in the college with written approval from the Dean, as of Sunday 7/3/2021.
Dr. Al-Rifaie explained that the University Council has approved the proposal of the Deanship of Admission and Registration to apply "distance learning" in the second semester of the academic year 2020/2021, given the exceptional health conditions that the country and the world are going through.
Dr. Al-Rifaie stated that the University Council has approved the College of Graduate Studies proposal to amend Article 3/33 of the College of Graduate Studies Regulations. The Council also approved the College of Graduate Studies proposal regarding the admission plan, conditions and numbers of expected admission for the academic year 2021/2022.
Dr. Al-Rifaie pointed that the University Council approved on the proposal presented by the Deanship of Admission and Registration to amend the academic calendar for the Faculties of Pharmacy and Public Health for the academic year 2020/2021.
