Acting Dean of Admission and Registration at Kuwait University, Dr. Misha’al Hisham AlGharaballi announced that submitting applications electronically for the second semester of 2020/2021 for Kuwaiti students, children of Kuwaiti mothers, GCC citizens , and stateless students, who meet the requirements and are graduates of the unified system, Islamic institute, American and English system graduates, and expected graduates will start on Saturday 6/03/2021 until Monday 15/03/2021. All students who wish to enroll at Kuwait University for the second semester of 2018/2019 of other categories mentioned above must visit the Admission and Registration hall in Shuwaikh during the official working hours through the period of 09-15/3/2021 along with the required documents as shown in table and according to the health precautions and measurements ,indicating the acceptance percentages in all colleges at the University applied for Kuwaiti students and children of Kuwaiti mothers which is calculated according to the results of the Academic Aptitude Tests and the percentage of the secondary certificate of the student, providing that the applying student should acquire a percentage no less than 70% (Scientific department) and 78% (literary department), Except for the majors of the Faculty of Science, in which admission is in accordance with the percentage of the student in the high school certification. Students should meet all conditions when applying as any application with less than the mentioned percentages will not be accepted.
Submitting applications for the admission process at KU will be via internet through the Deanship of Admission and Registration's website on the following address www.portal.ku.edu.kw/admission.
Dr. Al-Gharaballi added that if the student cannot enter the application system, an electronic link will be presented to the student that provides instructions to be followed. After two working days, the student must re-apply to the electronic application system to ensure that the application can be submitted. Note that acceptance of the student at the university is conditional on the validity of these documents.
Dr. Al-Gharaballi stated that the Deanship for Admission and Registration set a number for students services in case of any inquiry which is 1866000, during the period from 4-18/3/2021.
Acting Dean of Admissions and Registration indicated that students who have been accepted for the second semester and announced their names and majors with acceptance of the first semesters' results, their admission will be approved and receiving the supporting documents during from 17-22/3/2021 according to allocated dates that will be sent via their mobiles listed in their records, to refer to hall of Admission and Registration in Shuwaikh and provide the required documents and register for courses of the second semester 2020/2021.
Noting that Students with deferred admission who wish to modify their majors, can access the electronic admission system from 6 -15/03/2021, cancel the old application and apply for a new enrollment application.
He added that the student should review his enrollment application to know the required documents according to the type of high school diploma and category of admission.
Dr. Al-Gharaballi indicated that the University has the right to cancel any application due to the lack of required documents or in case the admission was based on incorrect information according to the rules of admission and transfer of KU.
Dr. Al-Gharaballi stated that there are specific minimum rates for Kuwaiti students with special needs and children of Kuwaiti mothers who fulfill the stipulated admission requirements that are less than the minimum limits for admission to the university, and these limits are (65%) for the science section and (72%) for the literary section.
Added that the student should present within his papers a valid certificate of proof of disability from the Public Authority of the Disabled. These students must review the admission and registration hall during official working hours to submit their applications for admission to the university for the second semester of 2020/2021. However, if the student’s percentage is (70%) or higher for the scientific section and (78%) or higher for the literary section, they can apply electronically through the provided website above.
Dr. Al-Gharaballi asserted that English high school students expected to graduate shall submit their applications online during assigned dates and shall refer to Admission Hall to submit their results within 2 working days of receiving them in order to determine their majors and complete registration procedures, stressing that the opportunity of admission regarding these students is equal to their colleagues who have submitted their applications during admission period.
Dr. Al-Al-Gharaballi added that transferred students from other universities and Public Authority for Applied Education and Training can complete the admission procedures or transfer during the period 21/2-25/3/2021, and provide their documents and transcripts to submit their applications for the second semester.
The Acting Dean of Admission and Registration at Kuwait University, Dr. Misha’al Al-Gharaballi, concluded his statement by inviting applicants to review the instructions provided by the university to them either on the Internet or in the rules of admission and transfer for the academic year 2020/2021, and the necessity of strictly complying with the deadlines for applying for admission. Any application for admission after the expiry of the stated period will not be accepted.
He praised the efforts of Mrs. Hind Al Salem, Director of Admissions Department and the efforts of all employees in the Admission Department in preparing and implementing the admission process.
