The Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Fayez A. Al-Dhafiri, chaired the meeting of the University Council No. (5/2020) today Tuesday 1st, December, 2020, in the presence of University Council members at the University Council Hall in Khalidiya.
In this regard, the Secretary General of the University, Dr. Muthanna Talib Al- Rifaie, stated that the University Council discussed a number of articles on the agenda during the meeting. Moreover, the University Council confirmed the report and reviewed the follow-up report of implementing the Council's decisions of the meeting no. (4/2020) held on October, 8th, 2020.
Dr. Al-Rifaie pointed out that the University Council approved the proposal of the Deanship of Admission and Registration to implement "distance education" in the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021.
He added that the council approved the proposal of the College of Graduate Studies regarding applicants for graduate studies who did not complete applications, and also approved the proposal of the College of Graduate Studies regarding amending some articles in the Colleges’ regulations.
The Secretary General stated that the council approved the mechanism and period for disbursing the unique major award (2020/2021).
Furthermore, Dr. Al- Rifaie said that the Council reviewed the Ministry of Higher Education’s letter regarding the Ministry of Health's guidelines to limit the spread of the emerging Coronavirus (COVID-19), and decided to continue implementing the regulation of the "distance education” since the traditional study is hard to implement in the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021, with emphasis on the need to adhere to health controls and requirements.
Dr. Al-Rifaie indicated that the Council discussed a number of other articles on the agenda.
