Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies Center at Kuwait University has issued various new publications, including strategic reports, translated studies, and a special edition of historical documents.
Among the most prominent of these publications is the issuance of "Historical Documents", which is a quarterly periodical issued by the Center. Prof. Abdullah Al-Hajri, Dr. Ali Al-Kandari and Prof. Basem Al-Loughani have all participated in this publication.
The idea of issuing this periodical comes as an attempt to benefit from the rich historical archive that the Center contains and bring it to light by presenting it as a research for the benefit of researchers and those interested in the history of the State of Kuwait and the region. This issue contains three documents, “Kuwait in the manuscript of Mortada bin Alwan in 1709 CE” And the visit of the Russian Consul in Bushehr to Kuwait in 1901 AD, in addition to the old Kuwaiti property in Basra.
The second edition was titled “The Economic Effects of the Emerging Coronavirus Pandemic on the Countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council,” which is a strategic report dealing with an emerging and extremely important issue, as the emerging Coronavirus pandemic has proven that global epidemics are considered actual threats to international security and they transcend national borders of countries as its impact is not limited to a specific geographical area
This is in addition to the issuance of the strategic report "The Gulf Crisis and Its Repercussions on the State of Kuwait" prepared by Abeer Ibrahim Saleh, as the Gulf crisis is a security dilemma that will undoubtedly move its effects on smaller countries and Kuwait is one of them.
The Center issued a publication of a series of translated studies entitled “From Dependency to the Alliance: Gulf-American Relations in Need of Reform,” written by Bilal Saab and translated by Maryam Muhammad Al-Muhanna.
This translated article discusses a very important issue, which is the relationship between the United States of America and the Arab Gulf states, as this relation have evolved and changed to reach the way it is today.
