Acting President of Kuwait University Chaired the University Council Meeting

Acting President of Kuwait University Prof. Fayez A. Al-Dhafiri chaired the University Council meeting no. (3/2020) that was held today, September 22nd, 2020, in the presence of University Council members at the University Council Hall in Khalidiya.
In this regard, Secretary-General of KU, Dr. Muthanna Taleb Al-Rifaie, stated that the university council discussed a number of articles on the agenda during the meeting. Moreover, the University Council confirmed the report of the meeting (2/2020) held on July 15th and 22nd, 2020, and reviewed the follow-up report of implementing the Council's decisions of meeting no. (2/2020) held on July 15th and 22nd, 2020.
Dr. Al-Rifaie pointed out that the University Council approved the proposal of the Deanship of Admission and Registration to implement "distance education" in the exceptional summer semester of the academic year 2019/2020.
Dr. Al-Rifaie added that the Council approved the proposal of the Deanship of Admission and Registration to amend articles (5 and 21) of the main regulations for the curriculum system. The College of Graduate Studies proposal was also approved to amend Article (29) of the “Distance Education" since traditional study at Kuwait University will not be implemented.
The Secretary-General pointed out that the University Council had approved the proposal of colleges to renew some of their faculty members' contracts.
Dr. Al-Refaei noted that the University Council has approved a proposal by some colleges to promote (12) faculty members for the rank of Professor and Associate Professor from various colleges, (6) faculty members from the Humanities and Social colleges, and (6) faculty members from the Scientific colleges, as follows:

Dr. Al-Rifaie indicated that the Council discussed a number of other articles on the agenda.
