Under the patronage and attendance of Kuwait University President Pro. Hussein Al Ansari, Vice President Office for Research organized a ceremony honoring the winners of scientific research, US-patented inventors, and winners of Best Posters in the Scientific Poster Day for the academic year 2018/2019. In the presence of the Vice-Presidents and Deans of Humanities and Scientific Colleges, and a distinguished attendees interested in scientific research at Kuwait University. The ceremony was held on Monday October 28, 2019, at the Conference Hall in Khalidiya.
The ceremony began with a speech by Prof. Jassim Al-Kandari, Vice President for Research. He welcomed the audience, and then extended his sincere congratulations to the honored scientists and researchers on their outstanding scientific and research efforts, which resulted in their achievement of the best research and their recognition and high scientific awards.
In turn, the President of Kuwait University Hussein Al-Ansari said that scientific research is the development gateway for all countries and is a priority of international universities as it is one of the most important pillars of development in the fields of science and technology, creativity and innovation. He pointed out that the Kuwait University has a long history in the field of scientific achievements in several areas, stressing that the achievements of distinguished scientific and research distinguished researchers contribute clearly to the advancement and progress of the academic and research level of Kuwait University and strengthen its position locally and globally.
After delivering the speeches, the winners were honored, starting with the Distinguished Researcher Award in the field of Basic and Applied Sciences for the academic year 2018/2019:

Prof. Jassim Al-Kandari stated that the Patent Office of the Research Sector has obtained five patents registered in the United States during the academic year 2018/2019 and attained by:
Prof. Laila Maarouf, Assistant Vice President for External Research Cooperation and Consultancy congratulated all researchers with patents registered, wishing them continued success by continuing to seek more scientific discoveries through the completion of advanced and innovative research.
