Tsinghua University in China selected a faculty member in the Department of Political Science at College of Social Sciences - Kuwait University Dr. Ghanim Al-Najjar as the first Arab professor to join the Higher Academic Committee at the Institute of International Studies at the University.
Dr. Najjar is honored to have been selected, especially that Tsinghua University is one of the most prestigious universities in the world and ranks 17th in the world in 2019 census, adding that the academic committee is  responsible for discussing and approving international research plans and regional studies as well as discussing research areas for doctoral students at the institute.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Al Najjar is the first Arab academic to join the prestigious academic committee, which until now has been reserved for Chinese academics, among academics from Britain, the United States and India, as he will be responsible for following up research of the Middle East.
