Kuwait University Signed A Research Cooperation Agreement with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC)

Kuwait University signed a cooperation agreement on strategic research and development with KOC. The agreement was signed by the University's President, Prof. Hussein Al-Ansari, and Mr. Nayef Abdulla Al-Enezi Executive Vice President for Drilling and Technology in KOC.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of Kuwait University Dr. Muthanna Al-Rifai, Vice President for Research Dr. Jassim Al-Kandari, the deans of College of Science and College of Engineering and Petroleum, the Director of Research and Development Group Mr. Ahmad Al Jasmi and a number of team leaders.

The five-year agreement aims at cooperation in the field of reservoirs, heavy oil and natural gas, and aims to exchange technology, knowledge and capacity development in research and development.
In this regard, KU President, Prof. Hussein Al Ansari expressed his joy with the joint research cooperation between the two sides, extending his appreciation to Kuwait Oil Company, adding that agreement is one of the most important agreements that are implemented within the framework of the strategy of Kuwait University.

For his part, Executive Vice President for Drilling and Technology in KOC, Mr. Nayef Abdullah Al-Enzi welcomed the attendees from Kuwait University, stressing on the importance of cooperation between the two parties in the service of research and development, which is in the interest of Kuwait.
He praised the role of researchers at Kuwait University and their experience in applied research that serves all the oil sectors, pointing out that this agreement covers the research cooperation between the University and the Kuwait Oil Company, in light of the great challenges facing the oil sector imposed by the technological reality and the need to improve production and refining operations Industrial and technological research during the scientific research to find the most appropriate solutions that correspond to the nature of the oil industry and the strategic priorities of the State of Kuwait.

Within the defined terms of the agreement, Kuwait University, represented by the External Research and Consulting Office of the Research Sector, shall focus on supporting the company's decision-making on intellectual property protection. This will include patents and analysis of the technical and marketing value of intellectual property to assist strategic decision-making. In addition to the exchange of experiences among faculty members at Kuwait University with researchers from the Kuwait Oil Company.
