Kuwait University Receives the Central Services Station 2 at Al-Shadadiyah Campus

The Committee for the Examination and Receipt of Contracting and Construction Works and the Requirements for the Transfer of the City of Sabah Al-Salem University received the Central Services Station Project 2 in Alshadadiya campus partially on Wednesday morning, March 27, 2019, in the presence of the Chairman of the Committee Dr. Muthanna Al-Rifai and members of the Committee, Director of the Structural Program at Kuwait University Dr. Qutaiba Razzouqi, Assistant Secretary General for Administrative Affairs Mr. Ali Alostath , Director of Construction and Maintenance Department Eng. Hamida Al Khalidi, Director of Legal Affairs Mrs. Heba Al Abbad, Director of Financial Affairs, Mr. Nasser Sayed Hashim, and Director of Purchasing Department Mr. Osama Shehab and Director General Services Department Mrs. Sanabel Duwaisan.

In this regard, the Secretary General of Kuwait University Dr. Muthanna Al-Rifai said: "The primary partial delivery of Central Station 2, which is an important facility in the city of Sabah Al-Salem University, has been completed today. It will provide all the main buildings on the campus with cooling water. The stations also provide the university facilities with potable water, firefighting water and communication network, adding that Central Station 2 is in addition to two other cooling system in the city of Sabah Al-Salem university with a cooling capacity of 36,000 tons per station.

Dr. Al-Rifai said that the step of receiving the Central Services Station 2 is the result of efforts made during the stages of construction of the campus project and will be followed by further steps to receive the buildings of university colleges in the near future. And that the University is moving ahead with the implementation of the transfer plan approved by the University Council, which requires the operation of 6 university colleges in September, namely the College of Arts, College of Education, College of Business Administration, College of Life Sciences, College of Science and College of Engineering and Petroleum, pointing out that the cooling capacity of Central Station 2 will cover and exceed the Refrigeration loads required by the university colleges mentioned.

Dr. Al-Rifai mentioned that the partial delivery of Central Services Station 2 is a continuation of the delivery of infrastructure projects. Kuwait University has previously received two projects of service tunnels and emergency shelters. He thanked the project contractor, Mohammed Abdulmohsen Al-Kharafi company, the Canadian Project Advisor (SSH), Turner Projacs, and the representative of the university who are responsible for the project management of the construction program at Kuwait University.
