The Deanship of Student Affairs at Kuwait University launched a student competition entitled Pioneers of the Future Entrepreneurship and Innovation in cooperation with the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises Development sponsored by the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs. The Deanship organized a press conference for the start of the competition, which will be for the Kuwaiti students enrolled in Kuwait University from 10th February 2019 to 6th March 2019. The conference was attended by the Dean Dr. Ali S. AlNami, Assistant Dean of Student Activities Dr. Thegal AlAjmi, Vice General Director of the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Eng. Fares AlEnezi, the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs Representatives Aseel AlEnezi, Director of Cultural and Artistic Activities at the Deanship Jamal Boraki and a number of representatives of the concerned authorities and representatives of the media in the building of the Deanship of Student Affairs No. 21 in Shuwaikh campus.
The Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Ali S. AlNami praised the role of the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs and the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises Development in presenting this initiative and the joint cooperation between the parties to embrace talent and youth. He explained that the main idea of the competition is to qualify and provide students of Kuwait University with the technical skills necessary to compete in the competition and turn their ideas into projects that are applicable in the free labor market in various scientific and service fields and the private sector. Also to prepare them well to form a team by continuing to manage their projects effectively after the end of the competition, and turning these creative ideas into projects that are applicable in the future.
Dr. AlNami stated that Kuwait University represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs encourages youth ideas by providing the necessary support in cooperation with the various sectors of the State to encourage the student talent needed for the labor market and continue to provide such initiatives and fruitful youth competitions for students of Kuwait University. Indicating that its objectives are centered in the training of student initiators on how to start small projects, from the beginning of the idea until the establishment of licenses and the actual start. In addition to qualifying and developing the skills of innovators and enhancing the culture of creativity through training them in managing small projects, directing the students' energies to build projects that serve the country and provide job opportunities, and contribute to reducing the unemployment rate by encouraging youth projects and creating job opportunities for creative youth and contributing to creating a pioneering business environment serving Individual and state.
Dr. AlNami said that the prizes will be for the first place 500 KD, the second 400 KD and the third 300 KD per student separately, and you will get each of the best idea and best identity and best offer on three cash prizes of 200 dinars per sector separately.
For his part, vice of General Director of the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises Developments Eng. Fares AlEnezi said that the competition is open to all majors at Kuwait University. The conditions of participation in the Future Pioneers Competition are to be Kuwaiti citizen and enrolled in Kuwait University. The team should consists of 3-5 members and may not register as an even members, and the idea is applicable and preferably the project or idea within the specialization of the student. In addition to the importance of the willingness of the student to work within the team and work with all members of the team, and the need to attend all workshops, lectures, meetings, and training necessary and the active participation of all events and programs. It is also necessary to adhere to the idea and the specific work team, and follow all the rules of conduct and ethics and laws, and the deadline for registration will be on 6th March 2019.
The representative of the Ministry state of Youth Affairs Aseel AlEnezi pointed out that youth are the real wealth of the country and that free enterprise occupies its place in economic work. Moreover, the Ministry state of Youth Affairs is keen to support these youth projects and cooperation with various sectors of the state, and improve the selection of young people to reach the standards of the world fit them and their creative ideas.
