Kuwait University won the first and second place in the innovation competition and the Kuwait march competition in the Arab Robotics Championship in its 12th edition hosted by the State of Kuwait represented by the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (one of the centers of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences). In cooperation with the Arab Robotics association during the period from 8 to 10 January 2019 under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Hamid Al-Azmi.
The competition was attended by 124 teams representing 10 Arab countries (Jordan, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt and Kuwait).
Kuwait University won the first and second place in the innovation competition. The first place winner project was ( Physiotherapy Hand) from the Department of Electrical Engineering and the second place winner was (The Safety Robot) project from the Department of Electrical Engineering.
In addition, Kuwait University won the first and second place in the Kuwait march competition. The first winner was Eng. Amal Al-Dheferi from the Department of Computer Engineering, and the second winner was Eng. Sahab Al-Ajmi.
It is worth mentioning that hosting of 12th Arab Robot Championship by the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (one of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences) in cooperation with the Arab Robotics Association came from the necessity to support and encourage promising generations to enhance their abilities in the use of technology, robotics and artificial intelligence..
