The American National Communication Association -Women's Department- awarded the 2018 Distinguished Study Award in the field of Feminism to a faculty member in the Department of Media at the College of Arts at Kuwait University Dr. Haneen Shafiq Al-Ghabra, for her research "From Failure to Feminist Solidarity: Negotiating Concessions and Repression".
In addition to the publication of her first book “Muslim Women and White Femininity”, which is considered an important addition to feminist studies around the world.

Dr. Haneen AlGhabra has received several awards from prestigious scientific institutions for her distinguished research efforts, especially on women in general and Muslim women in particular.
