A research team from the Faculty of Medicine at Kuwait University, which included Dr. Waleed Ibrahim Al-Hirz and Dr. Fawzi Abdullah Babaker, obtained a patent of US 10,087,238 B 2 from the Office of Invention in the United States of America for a medical study conducted by the team to prevent infection resulting from Treatment of re-perfusion by opening the blockage of the coronary arteries.

The discovery is likely to open new ways for a group of patients under cardiac catheterization or cardiomyopathies as well as heart transplantation to avoid complications after these procedures.
This research study is the result of the generous support provided by the Research Department at Kuwait University Patent Office to follow up the implementation of the project and follow up the registration of the invention in the United States of America.
