Kuwait University concluded The 34th Engineering Design Exhibition ( 1-2 July 2018) in Albaraka Hall in Crown Plaza Hotel, represented by the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum and Engineering Training Office and Graduates, attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Khulaifi, and the presence of representatives of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences and a number of faculty members.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Khulaifi, praised in his speech during the closing ceremony the Foundation's proposal for the late Dr. Ahmed Beshara Prize and his scientific achievements at Kuwait University and the Foundation which motivates Kuwaiti youth.
Dr. Al-Khulaifi added that the university is proud of the young engineers for their efforts in 111 projects that participated in the exhibition, adding that the award aims to encourage students to highlight their scientific achievements and document them.
Al-Khulaifi also praised Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) for its continuous support to engineering exhibitions that seek to highlight outstanding talent and encourage them to innovate and keep pace with technology in the working life.
For his part, General Director of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) Dr. Adnan Shuhabaldin welcomed the distinguished projects at the exhibition, adding that the ceremony aims at highlighting the best engineering design and honoring the memory of the late Dr. Ahmed Bishara by submiting the annual prize for the first time in cooperation with Kuwait University on behalf of the late deceased in the amount of five thousand Kuwaiti dinars to remain the memory of his scientific life.
For her part, Dr. Farida Al-Habib, the wife of the deceased, delivered a speech on behalf of his family, praising the work, researches and achievements he had made, which enriched the fields of science and knowledge in Kuwait.
Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) has honored the best projects of various scientific departments in order to create a spirit of creativity and competition among students and achieve the best results in educational achievement and knowledge.
The winner of Dr. Bishara Award was “Enhanced oil recovery using Nano-surfactant” project, under the supervision of Dr. Usama Al-Omair.
