Prof. Al-Saeed: Kuwait University Aims to Achieve the Objectives of Kuwait's Strategic Plan, Prof. Al-Dhafiri: The Success and Distinction of Kuwait University is Achieved Through the Excellence and Efforts of its Students and Staff.
Under the patronage and attendance of Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Osama Al-Saeed, Kuwait University, represented by the Administration of Media and Public Relations, organized a reception for the beginning of the new academic year 2024/2025. The event took place on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the Cultural Center in Sabah Al-Salem University City. In attendance was Acting Secretary-General of Kuwait University, Prof. Fayez Al-Dhafiri, Regional Director for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, deans of colleges, assistant deans, members of the academic and administrative staff, heads of administrative departments, and employees from various colleges and work centers.
Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Osama Al-Saeed, congratulated the university community and the new students who have been admitted to Kuwait University for the academic year 2024/2025. He also welcomed the Regional Director for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, to Sabah Al-Salem University City.
Prof. Al-Saeed extended his congratulations and best wishes to His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and to His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, as well as to the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Acting Minister of Education, for their care, support, and attention to this esteemed academic institution. He praised the efforts of the university's faculty, supporting academic staff, and administrative staff in providing a suitable university environment for our students as they prepare to welcome the new academic year.
Acting President of Kuwait University emphasized that the noble mission of Kuwait University has directed the educational process towards achieving the objectives of Kuwait's strategic plan. He stated that Kuwait University has given great attention to both educational and research aspects through the solid academic foundation established in the minds of its students, further preparing them for the professional world. He noted that Kuwait University has successfully built its educational programs in a way that allows its students to occupy various positions in state sectors.
For his part, Acting Secretary-General of Kuwait University, Prof. Fayez Al-Dhafiri, welcomed the attendees on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year 2024/2025 and the enrollment of new students in one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the country. He expressed his appreciation of the visit of the Regional Director for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, to Sabah Al-Salem University City. He also expressed hope that this new academic year would be one of distinction, success, and creativity, and prayed for the protection of Kuwait and its people from any harm under the leadership of His Highness the Amir and the Crown Prince.
In his speech at the university's reception, Prof. Al-Dhafiri stated, "Today, we stand at a new threshold of success and the building of the nation's future as we welcome our students for a new academic year. We hope that they will set their sights on achieving excellence, distinction, and creativity through hard work and perseverance." He emphasized that the university's role goes beyond merely providing scientific information and conducting research; it extends to encouraging any achievement that elevates the university and provides all means necessary for acquiring the skills and abilities required to lead the progress of educational and research initiatives for all members of the university. He pointed out that the success and distinction of Kuwait University are a result of the excellence and efforts of its students and staff.
Prof. Al-Dhafiri noted that one of the greatest contributions of Kuwait University is the knowledge values that, thanks to the efforts of its academic staff, have guided the integration of the foundations and requirements of education. He highlighted that the university prioritizes the freedom of thought to soar into the realm of creativity in various fields and strives to provide a suitable educational environment for graduating pioneers, thinkers, and leaders. He added, "Kuwait University takes pride in a great number of qualified human competencies and administrative experiences capable of contributing to the development of the colleges and their scientific specializations, and working within the educational system according to the plans and strategies that the university believes in."
The reception included a visual presentation titled "Kuwait University: Facts and Figures," which reflected Kuwait University's preparations for the new academic year, how it prioritizes research projects, and its role in enhancing the educational system.
