Vice President for Health Science

Since its establishment, the center has been delegated with the responsibility of seeking to establish faculties and programs that embrace the various aspects of the medical education organization. It is noteworthy that the founders of medical education in Kuwait realized with the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine in 1973, the Faculty of Allied Health and Faculty of Nursing in 1978 the need to provide national cadres in various branches and medical specializations. It also entrusted to HSC the responsibility to supervise and update the basic infrastructure in a manner commensurate with the needs of existing faculties, and in accordance with the future requirements of programs and faculties in order to achieve the mission of required integration in providing an advanced educational environment that ensures the qualification of cadres for the various health service branches.

Establishment of the Health Science Center

Upon the proposal of the founding Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. AbdulMohsen Al-AbdulRazzaq, the Council of Kuwait University adopted the concept of the Health Sciences Center (HSC), issued its decision to establish this entity in 1981 and established the post of Assistant University President for Health Sciences (Currently Assistant Vice President for Health Sciences Center), who is mandated by the requirements of the future vision of organizational and administrative structure of the Center.

 

Then the Executive Decision was issued by the Minister of Education, the University's Higher President, No. 1 on January 13, 1982, concerning the establishment of HSC in the University, followed by the issuance of the University's President's decision No. 756 in September 23, 1992, stating that HSC, which includes the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Allied Health, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Dentistry, is to follow the sector of Vice president for Health Sciences.
