The 6th Sustainable Power and Energy Conference (iSPEC) by (IEEE) Organization was held in Sarawak, Malaysia, from 23-27 November 2024, with the participation of many researchers and specialists from different countries around the world. The conference aimed to provide a forum for researchers, experts and companies specialized in the field of sustainable energy to discuss and exchange ideas and address future projects in the field of sustainable energy production and storage systems in light of contemporary climate change. The conference slogan for this edition was to enhance sustainable energy solutions for a greener future.
Researcher Dr. Sultan Shafaqa Al-Anzi from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University participated in the conference, where he chaired a scientific session entitled "Renewable Energy & Energy Storage Systems". He also presented a scientific paper from a research production of his with the participation of Dr. Rashad Kamel from the Department of Electrical Engineering, entitled "Optimal Performance of Power System Using an Optimal Power Flow Along with Optimal Inclusion of Distributed Generators Considering Voltage-Dependent Load Models", and was awarded Best Scientific Paper Award in the conference out of over 140 scientific papers.
It is worth noting that the scientific paper is part of the scientific production by researcher Dr. Sultan Shafaqa Al-Anzi as part of his externally funded research No. (XS01/24) at the Research Sector in Kuwait University. Dr. Al-Anzi took the opportunity to extend his thanks to those in charge of the Research Sector at the university for their continuous cooperation in supporting scientific research and eliminating obstacles for researchers at Kuwait University.
