The Biotechnology Unit in the Department of Biological Sciences held an event on "World Science Day", which is designated by the United Nations on November 10th of each year. The Director of the Biotechnology Center, Dr. Amani Al-Adasani, stated that the unit, in cooperation with Ooredoo, received school students with the aim of introducing them to the applications of science in the real world, inspiring curiosity and interest in science, and introducing students to the emerging scientific field. The event also aims to enhance environmental awareness and build confidence in experimentation and investigation.
The event included a lecture entitled “Introduction to Science and Sustainability” followed by a tour of the Biotechnology Unit to showcase the advanced tools and devices it possesses. The event also included a workshop in the unit’s laboratories and a tour of the specialized scientific units.
