As part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Kuwait University and Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), the Research Sector at Kuwait University is organizing a specialized workshop titled:
"Statistical Analysis for Scientific Research Using R Programming: Descriptive and Inferential Statistics", supported by KFAS. The workshop aims to enhance researchers’ skills in statistical analysis and the application of quantitative tools in scientific research.
The workshop will be held from April 13 to 17, 2025, daily from 4:00 PM to 7:15 PM, in Classroom 1012 – B2, located in the North Building of the College of Business Administration.
The sessions will be delivered by Professor Stefan T. Gries, a renowned scholar in statistical analysis of linguistic data from the University of California, Santa Barbara and the University of Giessen, Germany, along with Dr. Mohammad Al-Enezi, Assistant Professor at Kuwait University and specialist in corpus linguistics and linguistic data analysis.
The workshop is designed for faculty members, academic support staff, and graduate students from various disciplines. It aims to equip participants with practical skills in data analysis using R programming, a leading tool in the field of statistical computation.
Workshop objectives include:
• Developing participants’ foundational skills in descriptive and inferential statistics through practical applications.
• Enhancing researchers’ abilities in data visualization and interpretation using advanced techniques in R.
• Empowering researchers to apply quantitative methods in their studies, thereby improving the quality of scientific research.
This workshop forms part of the joint efforts between Kuwait University and KFAS, in accordance with their memorandum of understanding, and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the research capabilities of scholars and raising the standard of scientific output.
