Promoting Community Partnership with the Private Sector and Preparing a Distinguished Generation "Kuwait Codes" Launches Its Fifth Edition at Kuwait University

In line with Kuwait University’s commitment to strengthening community partnership with the private sector and preparing a distinguished, future-ready generation, the College of Life Sciences hosted the launch of the fifth edition of the “Kuwait Codes” initiative—a non-profit program aimed at equipping high school students with the essential technology skills required in today’s world. The initiative seeks to empower a new generation capable of addressing challenges through technological solutions.


The program exemplifies active private-sector involvement in community-focused projects, with generous sponsorship from Zain Telecom, Kuwait Finance House, Agility, and Alghanim Industries, as well as media sponsorship from Kuwait News and Kuwait Times, and digital sponsorship from Add Effect.

Ahmed Marafi, co-founder and CEO of the initiative, noted that “Kuwait Codes” has served over 3,200 students in previous years and continues to celebrate the success stories of its participants. He highlighted that the initiative’s fifth edition was officially launched today thanks to the generous support of Kuwait University, represented by the College of Life Sciences, and the renewed commitment from leading private sector partners over the past four years.


In her remarks, Dr. Hanadi Abdulsalam, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Research, and Graduate Studies at the College of Life Sciences, stated that since its inception in 2022, the “Kuwait Codes” initiative has become a leading platform for empowering students with modern programming and technology skills. Over the past few years, Kuwait University has hosted more than 3,200 students, reflecting the enthusiasm and readiness of Kuwaiti youth to explore the digital future. She affirmed the University’s continued support for students on their educational and technological journeys with the launch of this fifth edition.


It is worth noting that "Kuwait Codes" is dedicated to educating high school students through a dynamic schedule of workshops and activities, designed to train participants and provide them with the essential skills needed to enter the world of programming and emerging technologies with competence and professionalism.
