With the objective of enhancing the role of Kuwait University with scientific and research institutions, Kuwait University, represented by the Public Relations and Media Department, received a delegation of the winners of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) Awards for the years 2022-2023 at Sabah Al-Salem University City, on a visit aimed at strengthening ties with scientific and research institutions, which contributes to achieving Kuwait's Vision 2035. The visit included an inspection tour of Kuwait University colleges, which took place on Thursday 12 December 2024.
During the tour, the delegation visited several colleges, including the College of Science, the College of Engineering and Petroleum, and the College of Life Sciences. They were received by Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, Prof. Khaled Al-Hazaa, Acting Dean of the College of Life Sciences, Dr. Nawaf Al-Hajri, and Dr. Dhari Al-Huwail, winner of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) Award in the field of natural sciences and mathematics.
The delegation also visited the Visitors Center, which is the main meeting point for visitors and those interested in learning about the university's academic programs and research initiatives. They were received by Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, Ms. Anoud Al-Rashidi, Supervisor of University Activities and Events in the Scientific Colleges, Ms. Sheikha Al-Dakhil, and Acting Supervisor of Exhibitions and Conferences, Ms. Alia Kamal.
In this light, Eng. Fatima Al-Subaih, Specialist Engineer of the Construction Program at Kuwait University, reviewed the latest laboratories and research projects that contribute to the development of higher education in Kuwait. The delegation members expressed their admiration of the academic level and technological development at Sabah Al-Salem University City.
For her part, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, Ms. Anoud Al-Rashidi, stated that the Visitors Center at Kuwait University, under the Public Relations and Media Department, is an interaction platform with the community, created with the aim of strengthening partnerships with local and international institutions. It is also one of the most important facilities at the university, indicating that the center represents the university’s facade that encourages delegations visits to Kuwait University, including guests of the university and its administration. The Visitors Center reflects Kuwait University's vision and highlights its role as a leading institution that contributes to building a bright future for Kuwait. It aims to attract more students and interested parties, as well as enhance the university’s image being a leading educational institution which meets the needs of society.
