The Research Sector at Kuwait University, in cooperation with the Public Authority for Youth, organized a symposium entitled "A Research Vision for Youth Issues, from Challenges to Solutions" on Monday 23 December2024 at the Faculty of Arts Theater - Southern Campus in Sabah Al-Salem University City, in the presence of Assistant Vice President for for External Research Collaboration and Consultation, Prof. Nouriya Al-Kandari, Acting Vice President for Research, Prof. Mai Al-Bader, Assistant Vice President for Research Analysis and Development, Dr. Nasser Faisal Al-Tannak, and Assistant Vice President for Research Financing and Implementation, Dr. Haneen Shafiq Al-Ghabra. 
The Public Authority for Youth represented by the Center for Research and Studies for Youth and Community Development, was represented by the Director of the Center for Research and Studies for Youth and Community Development, Mrs. Sundus Al-Sandi, the Head of the Kuwaiti Identity Promotion Department at the Center for Research and Studies for Youth and Community Development, Mrs. Noura Al-Roumi, and the Head of the Community Innovation Department at the Center for Research and Studies for Youth and Community Development, Ms. Eman Hashem, amon an audience of academics, researchers and graduate students. 
The symposium aimed to enhance the role of youth in society, as well as provide them with opportunities to participate effectively in various fields, in addition to affirming their values of citizenship and belonging. 
At the beginning, Acting Vice President for Research, Prof. Mai Al-Bader, confirmed that the symposium came to enhance joint efforts, and invest academic and research expertise in providing innovative and effective solutions, from a scientific and research perspective, to some of the issues and challenges facing youth, such as issues of national identity, addiction, mental health and other community challenges, noting that youth are the pillar on which the future is built, and the foundation of sustainable development. This requires cooperation with various national institutions to support their issues and work to create the appropriate environment to achieve their ambitions. Prof. Al-Bader explained that the research sector at Kuwait University provides all kinds of support to address vital issues of national and societal priority, indicating that the symposium presents a platform for fruitful dialogue, exchange of ideas, and constructive visions, looking forward to the outcomes of the symposium which will contribute to supporting the priorities of the Public Authority for Youth, as it will open new horizons for cooperation between the academic and research sector at Kuwait University and community institutions. 
For her part, the Director of the Center for Research and Studies of Youth and Community Development at the Public Authority for Youth, Ms. Sundus Al-Sandi, confirmed that the Public Authority for Youth always seeks to enhance the role of youth in order to face the challenges that hinder their effective contribution by developing their skills and capabilities, and that the Authority seeks to enhance the values of citizenship and belonging among Kuwaiti youth, and provide a supportive environment, noting that the symposium came to understand the challenges which the youth face, and provide practical, implementable solutions to address the issues raised, as well as enhance cooperation between researchers and institutions to support youth and empower them to be active partners in development.
