
Under the patronage of Kuwait University President, Prof. Dina Al-Mailem, the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Department of Cultural and Artistic Activities (UNESCO Unit), hosted the second edition of the Global Peoples Day Forum, aimed at enhancing international relations in the State of Kuwait. The event was held in the Cultural Center Hall at Sabah Al-Salem University City, in the presence of Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Jassem Al-Hamdan, Vice Dean for Student Activities, Dr. Salem Al-Shammari, as well as ambassadors from various countries. The forum featured a visual presentation and an interactive cultural exhibition among participants.
On this occasion, Prof. Jassem Al-Hamdan emphasized the importance of strengthening academic and cultural relations both regionally and globally. He expressed his gratitude to the university for organizing this event for the second year in a row with the presence of ambassadors from 28 accredited embassies in Kuwait, in addition to the participation of students from various nationalities.
He highlighted the event’s role in showcasing the cultural diversity of each country and praised the positive engagement of the ambassadors, who explored the various activities organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs. He further noted that the Global Peoples Day Forum reflects the spirit of peaceful coexistence among more than 120 nationalities residing in Kuwait, as it embodies the country’s values of hospitality and mutual respect.
Prof. Al-Hamdan also stressed the important role of international students in representing their home countries during their time at Kuwait University, while also serving as ambassadors of Kuwait after graduation. This, he said, enhances the country’s reputation in academic and cultural spheres on a global scale. He concluded by thanking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait for its continued support of such initiatives, which contribute to fostering international relations in the country.
In turn, Dr. Salem Al-Shammari, Vice Dean for Student Activities, highlighted the significance of collaboration between students and the embassies of various countries in promoting cultural engagement and community partnership. He explained that this forum serves as a platform to transfer knowledge and share experiences between other societies and the State of Kuwait through the gateway of Kuwait University. He expressed his joy in the success of the event and his hope for continued achievements through this fruitful partnership.
The forum provided participants with the opportunity to explore diverse cultures and further strengthened ties between Kuwait University and international communities.
