Under the Title "Leadership: Reality and Ambition", the Activities of the Second Administrative Forum for Supervisory Position Holders, Managers and Supervisors are Launched

Under the patronage and attendance of Acting Secretary-General of Kuwait University, Prof. Mishari Al-Aifan, the activities of the second administrative forum for supervisory position holders, managers and supervisors, were launched, under the title "Leadership: Reality and Ambition" on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Conference Center in Sabah Al-Salem University City, in the presence of Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Ali Sadiq Al-Ostath, Acting Assistant Secretary-General for Facilities Management Affairs, Mr. Muhammad Al-Sulaiman, Assistant Secretary-General for Financial Affairs, Mr. Abdullah Jaber Al-Mutairi, Deputy Director-General of the Youth Sector at the Public Authority for Youth, Dr. Walid Al-Ansari, and a number of department directors, supervisors and supervisory position holders at Kuwait University. 


The forum aimed to enhance the skills of leaders and supervisors at Kuwait University through training workshops and what they reflect in terms of exchanging experiences among supervisors and highlighting the latest developments at Kuwait University in a way that serves the educational process. 


The forum was launched with a speech by Acting Secretary-General of Kuwait University, Prof. Mishari Al-Aifan, in which he affirmed that the forum came to achieve a common goal that reflects the university's status, and improves the quality of work, in addition to serving the educational process in continuation of the educational and administrative process at Kuwait University, noting that the forum comes from the General Secretariat of Kuwait University's awareness that the administrative apparatus at Kuwait University represents the backbone and the main pillar for achieving the university's vision in education, scientific research and community service with its competencies and experiences, and the role it plays in the success of the educational process that requires administrative, technical and service support. He also pointed out that the administrative apparatus is a main partner in academic and administrative excellence, which enables the university to face changing challenges in order to assume its responsibilities in implementing administrative policies, by issuing circulars and decisions that contribute to organizing the administrative process and ensuring the continuity of performance quality, in addition to filling supervisory positions to encourage competencies and achieve further advancement and progress. 


Prof. Al-Aifan also added that Kuwait University embraces a number of administrative competencies that contributed to the development of the educational process, whose role was prominent in the successful operation of Sabah Al-Salem University City, through the implementation of transitional plans in an organized and effective manner by coordinating efforts between various parties, and providing support services to make Sabah Al-Salem University City an educational environment in alignment with the highest international standards. He extended his thanks to all the organizers of this forum under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, his loyal Crown Prince, and the wise government. 


In turn, Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Ali Sadiq Al-Ostath stated that the second administrative forum embodies the vision of Kuwait University on enhancing and developing leadership and administrative thinking among supervisory leaders, in order to enable them to achieve institutional excellence, stressing that leadership is not just a position, but rather a role of responsibility and integrity that requires skills and creativity to serve the nation and society, adding that from this standpoint, the General Secretariat of Kuwait University was keen to hold a discussion session, by hosting public and leadership figures and a training workshop that contributes to enhancing administrative capabilities and competencies and highlighting successful experiences, noting that the second administrative forum came to shed light on supervisory position holders from the categories of directors and supervisors at Kuwait University, which came to translate their achievements and experiences according to practical reality, which reflects the extent of their efficiency and administrative capabilities to provide the best in terms of improving the quality of work in a way which serves the educational process, explaining that Kuwait University has always been full of administrative competencies that contribute to achieving the desired goals and results to increase the level of development and advancement, according to the strategic plan of Kuwait University’s vision, hoping that the conference will result in fruitful recommendations that reflect everyone’s experiences built through the training courses that have contributed significantly to hone their capabilities and develop their experiences to serve Kuwait University. 


For his part, Deputy Director General of the Youth Sector at the Public Authority for Youth, Dr. Walid Al-Ansari, stated that participation in the Administrative Forum includes presenting a workshop on managing disputes and conflicts at work, and how to manage crises, considering that the administrative aspect at Kuwait University is a distinguished one within various departments, noting that the forum came to shed light on several different points, the most important of which are disputes and conflicts within the administration, with the importance of defining crises and ways to solve them and how to address them to create a stimulating work environment for all employees, while establishing mechanisms for managing disputes in accordance with the regulations and laws in force at Kuwait University and the extent of the impact of these disputes on the work environment. 


On the sidelines of the forum, a short film entitled "The Administrative Body at Kuwait University: Reality and Ambition" was shown, which included advice and guidance to advance the development of the workflow, which reflects the extent of administrative efficiency and capabilities to provide the best in improving the quality of work in a way that serves the educational process. 


A discussion panel was held within the forum’s activities, moderated by the media figure, Dr. Bassam Al-Jazzaf, and hosted Acting Secretary-General of Kuwait University, Prof. Mishari Al-Aifan and Deputy Director General of the Youth Sector at the Public Authority for Youth, Dr. Walid Al-Ansari, where the discussion addressed how to create a stimulating work environment built on fairness, transparency, achievement and legitimacy in order to prepare a comprehensive employee capable of giving. Several managers and supervisors from various departments also presented many questions and inquiries on how to face the various challenges and obstacles they face during their academic career.
