
Prof. Nouria Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consultation at the Research Sector, has called on researchers and those interested in scientific research to attend the Fourth Scientific Research Conference, which will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Nader Al-Jalah, and President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Al-Mailem. The conference, titled “Research Collaboration: The Impact of Scientific Research on Strategic Planning and Academic Ranking”, will take place on February 17-18, 2025, at the Conference Center at Sabah Al-Salem University City.
The conference aims to provide a comprehensive platform to enhance collaboration between researchers in research and academic institutions, as well as governmental and private sectors, contributing to the advancement of scientific research by addressing research challenges that align with the country’s priorities.
Prof. Nouria Al-Kandari explained that a series of discussion sessions will be held during the conference with speakers from various state sectors. The first day of the conference will focus on discussing the role of scientific research in strategic planning and sustainable development, and how research can be utilized in the formulation of strategic and developmental plans for various sectors in the country. It will also explore the role of scientific research in improving academic rankings, highlighting how high-quality scientific research can enhance the global ranking of universities and academic institutions, contributing to academic excellence and sustainable development. The discussions will also cover international agreements that encourage researchers to submit innovative research proposals and secure funding to carry out their projects.
The second day of the conference will be dedicated to discussing research topics of priority in Kuwait Vision 2035. The sessions will focus on key areas such as economy, health, oil, environment, nutrition, education, and energy. The discussions will shed light on the major challenges each sector faces and how scientific research can be directed towards developing practical, actionable solutions.
Prof. Al-Kandari added that the conference aims to encourage researchers from various fields to adopt these priority topics and propose innovative solutions that support the country’s progress towards achieving the goals of Kuwait Vision 2035. Interactive sessions will be organized between researchers and decision-makers from governmental and private sectors, aiming to build bridges for collaboration among all stakeholders.
