In collaboration with Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development
As part of the ongoing community engagement efforts by the College of Architecture at Kuwait University with national institutions and companies—particularly its partnership with Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development—and in line with the Fund’s belief in the importance of supporting and empowering youth, two recently graduated architects, Eng. Jana Al-Abduljader and Eng. Nora Al-Babtain, were sent on Sunday, February 16, 2025, to the Republic of Tunisia to execute and construct two commemorative monuments bearing the name of Kuwait. The two graduates won the best design for the monuments, which symbolize the strong and longstanding relationship between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Tunisia.
A delegation from the Kuwait Fund accompanied the graduates to support them during site visits and official meetings dedicated to discussing the project’s execution details. The two memorials will be constructed in the capital, Tunis, and in the ancient city of Kerkouane.
The College of Architecture values this initiative by Kuwait Fund, recognizing its significance in providing graduates with valuable real-world experience and in enriching their academic and professional development.
It is worth noting that in 2019, the Fund had also organized a similar initiative, sending a group of faculty and students from the College of Architecture to the Republic of Lebanon, where they executed five memorial projects.
