In Contribution to Spreading the Social Culture of Children's Rights The Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies Center, in Cooperation with the "Amana" Social Welfare Association, Organizes a Discussion Session Entitled "Children and the Law"

The Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies Center, in cooperation with Amana Social Welfare Association, organized a discussion session entitled “Children and the Law,” which aimed to spread social culture of children’s rights. The session was attended by Acting Director of the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies Center, Dr. Yaqoub Yousef Al-Kandari, and the Cassation and Constitutional Lawyer and Vice President of Amana Social Welfare Association, Lawyer Zahraa Al-Sultan.
At the beginning, Acting Director of the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies Center, Dr. Yaqoub Yousef Al-Kandari, expressed the keenness of Amana Social Welfare Society to discuss the details of the Child Law prepared by Kuwait Child Society, expressing his hope that all civil society institutions would follow the example of these active societies which offer their opinions and expertise to the entire community.
For her part, Zahraa Al Sultan, a lawyer in the field of cassation and constitutional law and vice president of Amana Social Welfare Association, explained that one of the association’s most important concerns is raising awareness of children’s rights, preventing abuse, and raising awareness of Child Law No. 21 of 2015, which aims to protect children and ensure a safe and stable environment for them. She explained that there is a lack of awareness of children’s rights in society and the laws related to children, as well as the means to reach official bodies to report a child’s condition.
She added that the awareness aspect will increase knowledge and caution among students, government and civil authorities, enabling them to can take the necessary measures, "as efforts must be intensified to cooperate and protect children from the dangers of assault and the effects resulting from violence to which they are exposed."
