– University Council Approves Promotion of 20 Faculty Members to the Rank of Professor and Associate Professor
Prof. Dina Al-Mailem, President of Kuwait University, chaired her first University Council meeting (No. 01/2025) on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, held at the University Council meeting room in Sabah Al-Salem University City, in the presence of the council members.
At the outset, Prof. Al-Mailem welcomed the attendees, marking her first meeting after earning the trust of the nation's leadership in assuming the role of University President. The meeting proceeded to discuss several agenda items.
The Council ratified the minutes of meeting (06/2024), which had been held on December 22, 2024.
In a statement following the meeting, Acting Secretary General of Kuwait University, Dr. Bader Ahmad Al-Jasser Al-Rajhi, stated that the Council approved a proposed amendment to Clause (10) of Article (44) in the university’s financial regulations.
The Council also approved the memoranda of understanding between Kuwait University and Qassim University - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the University of Malta - Republic of Malta.
Dr. Al-Rajhi added that the Council approved the annual scholarship plan for the academic year 2024/2025 and ratified the financial statements for the Scientific Publishing Council, scientific journals, and the Committee for Authorship, Translation, and Publishing for the fiscal year 2023/2024. It also approved the financial report for the journal Fundamentals and Medical Applications for the same year.
The Council approved the College of Graduate Studies proposal to amend Article (41 bis) of its bylaws and endorsed the promotion of 20 faculty members to the ranks of Professor and Associate Professor.
