Prof. Al-Saeed: We Seek to Enhance Cooperation with Specialized International Institutions Due to their Pivotal Role in Developing the Academic and Research System and Supporting the Achievement of the University's Goals in Sustainable Development and Innovation
Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Osama Al-Saeed, received His Excellency the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands Mr. Laurens Westhoff and a delegation from Elsevier for Scientific Publishing, organized by the Office of Vice President for Research, in the Presence of Acting Vice President for Research Prof. Mai Al-Bader, Assistant Vice President for Research Analysis and Development, Dr. Nasser Al-Tannak, Assistant Vice President for Research Financing and Implementation, Dr. Haneen Al-Ghabra, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consultation, Prof. Nouriya Al-Kandari, the Global Director of the publisher Elsevier, Dr. Young Suk (YS) Chi, and the Regional Director of the publisher Elsevier, Dr. Amr Dahab, on Tuesday 10 December 2024 at Sabah Al-Salem University City.
The visit aimed to enhance cooperation with the leading Dutch publisher Elsevier in the field of academic publishing and information solutions, and to discuss prospects for cooperation in developing scientific research and supporting academics and researchers at Kuwait University.
In this regard, Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Osama Al-Saeed, stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation with specialized international institutions due to their pivotal role in developing the academic and research system and supporting the achievement of the university's goals in sustainable development and innovation. On the other hand, the Office of the Vice President for Research, in cooperation with the publisher Elsevier for scientific publishing, organized a scientific lecture presented by Dr. Young Suk (YS) Chi, where the latest research solutions and academic tools provided by the company in the field of scientific research and academic publishing were reviewed, and how to invest Elsevier tools to improve the capabilities of researchers and support the university's strategies.
