Science Expo by the Biology Department

Under the patronage of Kuwait University President, Prof. Dina Al-Mailem, and in the presence of Vice President for Academic Support Services, Dr. Mohammad Al-Mulla, the College of Science, represented by the Vice Dean’s Office for Student Affairs, launched the "Science Expo by the Biology Department". The exhibition will last from Monday to Wednesday, April 21-23, 2025, at the College of Science. The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Mohammad Ben Sabet, Acting Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sanafi, Acting Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suzanne Al-Bustan, Acting Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Research, and Graduate Studies, and Dr. Faris Al-Azmi, Acting Vice Dean for Planning, Consultations, and Training.
On this occasion, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sanafi, Acting Vice Dean for Student Affairs, emphasized that the "Science Expo" stands out by showcasing departments and centers related to the fields of the College of Science, as well as job opportunities provided by participating entities from both the public and private sectors. The exhibition also features the participation of various scientific departments and professional student clubs.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hussein Behbehani, Acting Head of the Department of Biological Sciences, explained that the goal of this exhibition is to highlight the importance of studying biology and introduce the various specializations within the field. These include five scientific programs: Animal Biology, Plant Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology. Dr. Behbehani added, “Such exhibitions provide an opportunity for high school students to learn about these scientific programs and determine their future interests.” He also mentioned that the exhibition includes the participation of about 25 employment entities from both the public and private sectors, offering another opportunity for current students and graduates of the College of Science to connect with potential employers and gain insight into the nature of work in these organizations.
Dr. Behbehani also noted that the exhibition demonstrates the relationship between biology and other disciplines within the College of Science, such as physics, chemistry, and geology, highlighting the close connection between these fields.
