Acting Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Abrar Al-Hassan, and Director of the Student Exchange Program, Prof. Kamal Rouibeh, received a delegation from Université Polytechnique Hauts-De-France, headed by Director of the French University, Prof. Abdulhakim Artiba. The delegation included International Relations Officer, Dr. Jonathan Brindle, International Cooperation Coordinator, Prof. Mohammad Jumee, Information Technology Expert, Dr. Marcia Peixoto, and the Attaché for University Collaboration at the French Embassy in Kuwait, Dr. Saeed Muammar.
During the meeting, Dr. Abrar Al-Hassan welcomed the visiting delegation and stressed the importance of signing student exchange agreements with universities with academic accreditation, noting that the College of Business Administration seeks to strengthen its partnerships with foreign universities in a way that serves its academic goals, emphasizing the need for coordination on the curricula to ensure the success of the actual implementation of the agreements.
For his part, Prof. Kamal Rouibeh presented a brief history of the Student Exchange Office at the college, emphasizing that the college is a pioneer in this field in the Arab region and the Gulf. He further explained that the college has signed 27 agreements with prestigious universities that have obtained academic accreditation from the AACSB Association in the continents of America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He stated that the total number of students benefiting from the program since 2008 has reached 207 students, including 122 scholarship students and 85 guest students, noting that France is the college's largest partner, as it has sent 67 students and received 47 students from France.
The Director of the French University, Prof. Abdulhakim Artiba, stressed the importance of focusing on activating the agreements on the ground to include student exchange, faculty exchange, and joint research projects.
In turn, Dr. Jonathan Brendel pointed out the possibility of accomplishing agreements within the European ERASMUS+ program, which allows the exchange of students and faculty members between European universities and universities from outside the European Union. He also proposed organizing specialized seminars for graduate students in collaboration with partner universities.
At the end of the meeting, the two parties stressed the importance of strengthening the academic partnership between the College of Business Administration and the French University to expand opportunities for student exchange and develop joint projects in the fields of education and scientific research.
