
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting scientific research and advancing the educational process, the Libraries Department at Kuwait University announces the provision of more than 27,000 new electronic books through its electronic library in cooperation with ScienceDirect platform, affiliated with the academic publisher Elsevier. These books will be available to Kuwait University members until the end of September 2026. The added collection includes a diverse and comprehensive range of electronic books, including encyclopedias, specialized guides, book series, and reference sources. These academic electronic books cover multiple fields including science, technology, medicine, social sciences, agriculture and food biology, biochemistry and genetics, mathematical sciences, materials science, health sciences, pharmacology and toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, and others. Elsevier ScienceDirect books provide high-quality scientific content that has been previously reviewed by experts, which enhances its position as an essential tool for researchers, academics, and students, to support innovation and knowledge enrichment.
In this context, Prof. Mohammed Ali Al-Mulla, Acting Vice President for Academic Support Services, stated that the Libraries Department always seeks to support scientific research and provide distinguished academic resources which enhance the status of Kuwait University and the aspirations of its members. The Academic Support Services Sector is committed to providing the best scientific resources that contribute to enhancing the educational and research process and providing an integrated knowledge environment. This collection of e-books is currently available to all university members, including faculty members, academic support staff, graduate students, undergraduate students, and university employees, through the official website of the electronic library:

This achievement comes as part of the vision of Kuwait University to enhance digital transformation, enable the academic community to access advanced educational resources, and implement the standards of institutional academic accreditation of Kuwait University, as per criteria No. (7.2.1) concerning providing printed and electronic information sources to faculty members and students, and supporting excellence in education and scientific research, which positively reflects the university's pioneering role in serving the academic community.
