
Prof. Mohammad Al-Mulla, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs at Kuwait University, received H.E. Mr. Alain Pérez Torres, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the State of Kuwait, on the morning of Monday, March 24, 2025, at Sabah Al-Salem University City. The visit aimed to enhance bilateral relations between Kuwait University and Cuban universities, through discussions on the exchange of expertise in teaching, training, and scientific research, as well as reviewing the latest academic developments and key cultural and scientific advancements. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Sulaili, Assistant Vice President for Faculty and Cultural Relations at Kuwait University.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Mohammad Al-Mulla welcomed the Cuban Ambassador, emphasizing that the visit reflects a mutual interest in establishing academic cooperation between Kuwait University and universities in Cuba, particularly in the fields of teaching and research. He also expressed the University's readiness to expand collaboration, including offering study opportunities at Kuwait University for Cuban students to learn the Arabic language. Prof. Al-Mulla voiced his hope that this initiative would support the mutual promotion of Spanish and Arabic language education, reiterating Kuwait University’s ongoing commitment to academic cooperation and to building bridges with countries around the world through the advancement of education and scientific research.
In turn, Ambassador Alain Pérez Torres expressed his great appreciation for the existing academic and cultural collaboration between the two countries and the shared aspiration to enhance academic and scientific exchange. He expressed his eagerness to increase the number of specialized academic missions to Kuwait University and to strengthen ties between the University and educational institutions in the Republic of Cuba, aiming to further elevate the level of academic and research engagement between both sides.
