
Kuwait University, represented by the Center for Community Service and Continuous Education, hosted the 29th coordination meeting of the General Secretariat of the Committee of Deans of Community Service Colleges and Centers at universities and higher education institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The meeting took place on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Sabah Al-Salem University City.
The meeting aimed to enhance cooperation and exchange of expertise among GCC universities in the field of community service, and to discuss ways to achieve developmental progress in light of future challenges, through the presentation of new initiatives for advancing community service efforts.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Hamed Sulaiman Al-Furaih, Secretary-General of the Committee of Deans of Community Service Colleges and Centers at GCC universities and institutions of higher education, and Assistant Vice President for Academic Support Services for Community Service and Libraries at Kuwait University. The meeting was attended by committee members representing universities from GCC countries, Ms. Etemad Abdulrahman Al-Kandari, Acting Director of the Center for Community Service and Continuous Education, along with a number of heads of departments from the center.
Dr. Al-Furaih expressed his pleasure at Kuwait University’s hosting of the meeting, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation among GCC universities.
Ms. Etemad Abdulrahman Al-Kandari emphasized the significance of the meeting in strengthening community partnerships among GCC countries, reflecting the commitment of GCC states to fostering collaboration in community service. She noted that such efforts contribute to the exchange of successful experiences and the development of community service programs that meet the needs of Gulf societies.
