Kuwait University Launches the Activities of the Gulf Weeks 2024 in Cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf
Prof. Osama Al-Saeed: Kuwait University Welcomes Hosting the Gulf Weeks Events to Introduce University Members to the Role and Achievements of the Gulf Cooperation Council

Under the patronage and attendance of Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Osama Al-Saeed, Kuwait University launched the Gulf Weeks activities in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, accompanying the work of the 45th Gulf Summit, which will be held in the State of Kuwait.
The events began with a lecture at the College of Arts on the establishment of the Gulf Cooperation Council and its objectives, presented by the Director General of the General Administration of Strategic Planning and Development at the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, and a lecture at the College of Business Administration on the gains of the Gulf Common Market, presented by the Head of the Gulf Common Market Department in the Economic Affairs Sector at the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council, Lulwa Al-Meshari, on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Sabah Al-Salem University City, in the presence of the President of Kuwait University, Prof. Osama Al-Saeed, among a number of university leaders and the team of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
At the beginning, Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Osama Al-Saeed, welcomed the launch of the Gulf Weeks activities in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries accompanying the 45th Gulf Summit in Sabah Al-Salem University City with introductory and educational lectures in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council with the aim of strengthening relations and cooperation between the two parties, and introducing Kuwait University members to the role and achievements of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in addition to a series of lectures and workshops on topics related to the Gulf Cooperation Council with the aim of strengthening the bonds of brotherhood.
On the other hand, Acting Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Mudaij, welcomed the representatives of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council and giving a lecture to introduce students and members of Kuwait University to the Gulf Cooperation Council, its important achievements, and areas of joint cooperation, expressing his happiness with the sincere brotherhood between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the good relations between the various Gulf Arab countries, especially strengthening the ties, connections, and aspects of cooperation between their peoples in various fields.
In turn, the Director General of the General Department of Strategic Planning and Development at the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Eng. Abdulaziz Al Nasser, spoke about the establishment of the Council and the objectives of the strategy, as well as the areas of joint Gulf action and the various achievements, characteristics, challenges, and basic objectives achieved in the Gulf journey, the management of joint Gulf action, and the vision and pillars of the Cooperation Council.
In another related context, Acting Dean of the College of Business Administration, Prof. Talaa Al-Daihani, stated that this lecture includes a detailed explanation of the common Gulf markets, their most important provisions, and the opportunities and privileges they provide to citizens of the GCC countries.
He explained the importance of the achievements made by the GCC General Secretariat in all fields of investment, education, services and health, stressing that such lectures contribute to raising awareness among GCC citizens in all fields, noting that they include a guide on the appropriate ways to achieve optimal benefit for GCC citizens, companies and national institutions from the common market.
For her part, Lulwa Al-Mishari, Head of the Gulf Common Market Department in the Economic Affairs Sector at the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council, explained that the lecture aims to introduce the gains of the Gulf Common Market, and to create a single market through which citizens of the Council countries can benefit from the opportunities available in the Gulf economy.
She explained that the common Gulf market aims to achieve equality among citizens of the GCC countries without discrimination in all economic fields, and to widen the scope for investments, maximize the benefits resulting from these markets, improve the negotiating position, and achieve optimal use of available resources.
