
Prof. Al-Saeed: Our goal is to Unify Efforts to the Service of Our Students and University Members and Maintain their Health
Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Osama Al-Saeed, received the representative of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Society for Combating Smoking and Cancer and Head of the Anti-Smoking Committee, Mr. Anwar Burhama, to discuss cooperation in the health field, in the presence of Assistant Secretary-General for Facilities Management Affairs, Muhammad Al-Sulaiman, Director of the Security and Safety Department, Yousef Al-Khamis, and Director of Public Relations and Media Department, Anoud Al-Rashidi.
In this regard, Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Osama Al-Saeed stated that the aim of this cooperation is to unify efforts in the service of our students and university members and maintain their health, explaining that Kuwait University is an institution that serves the community and has many community solutions in various fields, especially in the health field, pointing to the university's effective contribution in this field, which was represented in holding many awareness and health campaigns aimed to educate students and university members about the risks to health, in addition to opening a smoking cessation clinic, which in turn led to the accreditation of Kuwait University as a healthy university city.
In turn, the representative of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Society for Combating Smoking and Cancer and the head of the Anti-Smoking Committee, Mr. Anwar Burhama, stated that the Society aims, through this visit, to enhance cooperation with Kuwait University in the area of combating smoking and treating smokers through the smoking cessation clinic which the University recently opened in the context of Sabah Al-Salem University City obtaining the title of a healthy city that achieves social and psychological integration, pointing to the harms of smoking and its negative impact on society, praising the dedication of the University administration towards the physical and psychological health of students, employees and members of the University, looking forward to this cooperation continuing in order to increase community awareness and achieve a healthy environment.
