
Organized by the ClickIT Club, affiliated with the Department of Information Science at the College of Life Sciences, and in collaboration with the ACM at Kuwait University, the Capstone Team of high school students, and the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, the National Entrepreneurship Competition was held on Monday and Tuesday, April 7–8, 2025, at the College of Life Sciences.
The event opened with a welcoming speech by Dr. Sheikha Al-Khuder, faculty member in the Department of Information Science and supervisor of ClickIT Club: "This competition was born out of the vision and passion of a Capstone graduation project team from BBS (Bayan Bilingual School). We are immensely proud of their initiative and their impactful idea. Through our collaboration with them, ClickIT Club opened its doors and shared its knowledge and resources to help bring this event to life—from planning and organization to full execution."
During her speech, Dr. Al-Khuder extended her gratitude to Dr. Zahraa Marafi, former supervisor of ClickIT and current supervisor of the ACM at Kuwait University, as well as to Engineer Sabah Al-Madani, Assistant Supervisor at ClickIT Club, for their key roles in empowering young leaders and realizing this vision. She also thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the event—whether through consultation, organization, participation, or support—and concluded saying "Together, we have proven what collaboration and dedication can achieve. Today we celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation. May this event mark the beginning of many future accomplishments."
Student Anadel Al-Rashed, Head of the Capstone Team, delivered a welcome speech, in which she emphasized that the competition offered a valuable educational experience, enabling students to develop their ideas and work collaboratively as a team. She noted that months of preparation went into creating a motivating environment where participants could engage in a realistic entrepreneurial experience. She concluded her speech by thanking Kuwait University for hosting the event, the ClickIT team for their support, and everyone who contributed to the organization of the event.
Jana Al-Humaidhi, one of the student participants, shared her happiness in being part of the competition, highlighting its role in allowing students to explore their potential and transform their ideas into real-world solutions. She commended the efforts of the organizing team and wished all participants a fruitful experience that would enhance their entrepreneurial skills.
Rana Omar, President of the ACM at Kuwait University and a member of ClickIT, also spoke during the opening ceremony, stressing the importance of such events in nurturing the spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity among students. She thanked the speakers, sponsors, jury members, and the organizing team of the scientific clubs, and also outlined the program agenda, which included keynote talks and specialized workshops delivered by leading entrepreneurs and experts in the field.
During the opening, a video presentation by a Harvard University student and entrepreneur was screened, in which she discussed how entrepreneurship and small projects can support students in their academic journeys. She encouraged them to believe in themselves and their abilities.
On the first day of the competition, Omar Al-Ibrahim, Director of CODED Academy, gave a presentation about the academy and explained the differences between small startups and medium-sized enterprises, defined tech startups, and shared sources of successful startup ideas.
Following that, Engineer Ghanem Al-Dossari, Founder of Sada Digital Solutions and Sprint Team, gave a session on how to build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and its significance. He was followed by Mr. Basel Al-Salem, who spoke about how to prepare startup business models and avoid common pitfalls.
The first day was concluded with a talk by student Anadel Al-Rashed, who gave a session on entrepreneurship that covered the refreeing process, the Business Model Plan, and the concept of commercial value proposition. Participants in the workshops were then honored in appreciation of their efforts.
On the second day of the competition, the participating teams presented their projects to the judging panels. A total of 19 teams competed and were assessed by three judging panels. The first panel included Dr. Aseel Al-Munayis and Mr. Abdullah Al-Ayyaf; the second panel included Dr. Fatima Hussain, Mr. Hassan Al-Aftan, and Mr. Khaled Al-Rashed; and the third panel included Dr. Haneen Khaled Abdulrazzaq, Dr. Nouf Al-Mussed, and Mr. Abdulmohsen Al-Fulaij.
In the final round, six teams competed for the top three positions. The first-place prize went to Team GuideK, who received a cash prize of 600 KWD. The second-place was awarded to Team Wasalt, who received a prize of 400 KWD, and in Third- Place came Team Waffer, who received a prize of 200 KWD.
